When a newborn reaches one month old, it is traditionally belief to gift Ang Ku Kuehs and Red Eggs to relative to symbolise good luck, blessing, long life for the child and longevity for the elderly. In Chinese custom, Hong Yuan is used when the baby is a boy while Ang Ku Kueh is used when the baby is a girl.
